Animal testing facility

ANIMAL TESTING FACILITY

It was morning when she woke/ the hint of despair still fragrant in the air. Her hair was tangled and sprouting park life. The grass was crispy with frost/ it fractured as she moved. She had been roused by a distant pain in her left hand, travelling up her arm. She looked down/ she looked down/ her eyes fell down. Gnawing on her fingers ~ one ear pricked up. It cowered as it saw her seeing it. Backing away to the concrete "landscaping". There it stood, its fragile frame shivering in the cold. She edged her way over to it, reaching her hand out so it would get used to her smell. It looked up at her with big eyes, inhaling, taking her perfume in. Cautiously it licked her fingers: she felt the rough bumps on its tongue slide over her knuckles. She slumped down next to the little dog. Pouring out her heart in a single sigh. Her visible fragility coerced the dog to trust her. It curled up in a ball next to her. They were both glad of the extra warmth. She felt around its neck for its implant chip/ scanning with her sleeve cuff.
